The skid continues.. Even thought we lost, this was a pretty good game overall. The team was playing quite well in the early goings of each half but faltered in the later minutes. We made three dumb mistakes in the back and each one cost us a goal...
For me, the game was pretty challenging we were playing Podrinje which is a team with solid green jerseys and white accents; we wear solid red jerseys with white accents.. uh oh. Since I am positively red/green colorblind, the game is a bit challenging. In my youth as a defenseman, my response to such problems was to physically take everyone out, including my own players that came close to me. Nowadays, I am an offensive player and found myself having to hold the ball longer than I wanted to.
Soccer is a game all about timing and split second decision making. On offense you don't really have time to look for a player's face, so the flash of jersey color is all you really have. When you're color blind this is a big problem. The result, I turned the ball over more than I usually do and probably squandered some offensive chances. I wish PRK would fix color vision!
