PRK Sucess... so far
I just had PRK done on both eyes this past Friday, March 21st. I did a lot of research beforehand so I would be prepared when I went in. I was absolutely terrified of the post-surgery pain that was reported on so many blogs and forums but I was committed to getting it done, especially since I already paid!
Procedure went well. First post-op visit (Saturday) I was about 20/30 when I was originally around 20/400. The thing I want to note: I had absolutely NO PAIN at all and it is now Post-Op Day 5. I'm going to get my bandage contacts removed in a few hours. I did experience two times where my eyes teared uncontrollably and I couldn't open them much but that was more of an extremely uncomfortable feeling and not pain. I took Valium the first night and Vicodin for those two times when I teared. Other than that, I never needed them again and they are still sitting in my little medicine bag. Also, I am only using antiobiotic and steroid drops. I do not have any anesthetic drops.
I'm not sure what the terms ghosting, halos, starbursts mean but I don't think I have any of it. I also had very little light sensitivity. Aside from the blurriness of not having perfect vision yet, everything else seems normal. I have been able to use the computer and watch tv since Saturday/Sunday.
