PRK Sucess Stories?

I admit that after reading a lot of the blogs, I'm a bit aprehensive about my PRK this Friday. It seems the recovery time is a lot more intense than any of the doctors imply.
My question is, are there any PRK success stories out there? Sometimes only the bad experiences get voiced while the good experiences are enjoying 20/20 and not browsing blogs!
Let's see if we can find the fastest recovery time out there...I need some motivation for Friday! I intended to go back to work on Day 5...is this overly optomistic?

I had PRK while ago, my vision is rock solid and crystal clear.. I get no halos at night and would do it over again in a heartbeat. You can probably go back to work on Day 5.. I went back on Day 3.

Matt, thanks for the encouragement. Wow...Day 3? That's pretty impressive. What was your correction before the PRK? (mine is -2.5 for both eyes). I know this is fairly light compared to some people, so maybe that translates into faster recovery time?

Hmm..
I'm not sure that the Rx has any real effect on recovery time but mine was -1.75 in both eyes. They have to take off all of the epithelial cells regardless of the correction amount and it is the re-growth of those cells that takes about a week (under the contact bandage). It is also the absence of those cells that LASIK is trying to correct (the flap still has them on the surface). Here's my side-by-side account of the recoveries.
