Should I get my vision corrected?

Hi,
I am in a dilemma; please post your honest opinion. I have a power of 2.25/1.75 which is mostly astigmatism. I have my preliminary exams done and eligible for correction, Dr's say PRK is best suited for me as my cornea is not too thick. I work with computers 10hrs a day and contact lens dry my eyes very often and I keep blinking my eye to adjust my lens so wanted to get vision corrected but after reading PRK experience I am wondering if I should get it done or not. I can't take weeks worth of leave and dryness being the side effect, I will end up with same problem.
Thanks
Mammu.

I'm a programmer as well
Hey mammu,
I'm a programmer who sits in front of a computer (at a fixed focal distance) all day. I haven't really experienced a dry eye kind of problem though (before or after the surgery). My vision was 20/40 before my surgery which some people would be quite happy with but I don't regret my decision one bit, as I have had a really good result.
Although I only took one day off from work (a Friday).. you could do one eye at a time (on different days) and make sure that you won't have an extended outage.
As far as the dryness is concerned, you should probably be taking regular breaks from staring at the computer right now! I get up and walk around and look at things far away at least once an hour.. but I did that even before my surgery. You could also keep some eye drops handy (the tears variety) and put them in when you feel a bit dry.
