Welcome to the forum!

I wanted to create this forum for laser vision correction users. The article which spawned this idea is getting a little bogged down in the comments part. It isn't too unwieldy yet, but I think the forum layout makes a lot of sense in this case. I'll be moving existing top level comments to forum topics and responses as messages underneath those topics.. (hopefully today) Eye-wink

PRK Day 10 and seeing double

Hi All,

Matt thank you for this wonderful forum it has been a great help.

I HAD -3.75 vision and -3.5 astigmatism in my left eye, -3.75 astigmatism in my right eye. I have thick corneas and very large pupils. Because of this my surgeon did PRK.

The facility was wonderful and quick--gave me SeeMore Shark to hold during the procedure which was done Fri March 23. They gave me Neurotin and Valium before the procedure and a Neurotin script to take home. I woke up at 2am in horrendous pain--comparable to child birth. I took a neurotin and waited for the pain to go away-about 10 minutes. I am stubborn and would not use the eye drops because they slow the healing. Sat I went to the dr and I was seeing 20/50 and 20/70. To me I could see nothing.

By the weekend of the 31st-I was seeing great in my right eye and double in my left eye. One surprise was I could read in a moving car and not get car sick. By Monday my vision was worse, I went to the Dr and he says I see 20/20 with some struggle. Tuesday night I went for a walk and when I got home my vision was worse. Today April 4, I am seeing double in both eyes, had to change my I.E setting to large text and wear my reading glasses to see the screen.

Here's hoping it does improve. Anyone else have issues seeing double? I am taking FML for swelling and stopped the antibiotics over the weekend. Oh-and I don't see halos at night-at least not yet. If anything the world is toooo bright at night.

This is my 4th week after

This is my 4th week after having PRK and it is working out well. The first 3 weeks were kind of horrible with blurry/double vision in both eyes but it has cleared up well. I am still having light sensitivity especially in the morning. Although my vision is not quite crisp yet, I am able to drive myself and get around pretty good. On my last appt., I was seeing 20/20 in my left eye and 20/25 in my right eye. I have another appointment on Good Friday
