Why I got dropped from google

For whatever reason, I decided to lookup how much of my site was indexed by google. At the time, there were only 7 pages listed. Did I do something to offend the great google gods?

Not intentionally. I have done some SEO/Natural Search work for companies in the past and know the basic rules. This site isn't some spam site with a bunch of nonsense text spewed about to fool google's algorithm into putting it into the first spot. In fact, I could really care less about placement. Ok, so what did I do wrong?

I am using google sitemaps and had submitted mattfleming.com and www.mattfleming.com as separate sites. At some point in my research on this issue (if I knew where I would link to it), it dawned on me that googlebot would see these two sites as mirrors of each other and completely devalue both sites. So yesterday I removed the www.mattfleming.com from the sitemaps and voila-- now there are 33 pages being indexed.
